One way we support the Amateur Radio community is by conducting ARRL License Test Sessions. We will be conducting Tests after our August club meeting.
Register for a session on the Ham.Study site which is also a great site to use in preparing for the exam.

After the June 2025 club meeting, the club had a project day and built six tape measure yagi antennas. It was a fun and product activity. Blog post here for full details.

The club along with Thomas Peavy (KentuckyDMR.com) has set up of a digital repeater for DMR in the Franklin Ky area.
The club recognizes digital communications as a great alternative to analog voice and enjoy the benefits of digital when coupled with Internet technology. This repeater will be a great tool for the local community. It will open Franklin and Simpson county Kentucky to the world.
The repeater site also hosts an APRS iGate and digipeater. It also has a bulletin with details of the DMR repeater.
Note: This repeater is currently not functional. Thomas is aware and will address the issue shortly.
The SCARS club serves Franklin, Simpson County Kentucky and surrounding area. Our goal is to promote the proper use of amateur radio communications and support growth in the interest of HAM radio. KN4UTV is the club call sign and we use it during field day and other special events.
We host a weekly net open to all amateur radio licensees.

We are an ARRL affiliated VE team and attempt to have a VE session each month after our monthly club meeting. If you are interested in becoming licensed or upgrading an existing license, please find a session posted at https://hamstudy.org/sessions

The club meets monthly on the third Saturday of each month. We meet at Red Haven Properties office 122 Memorial Dr Franklin, KY. Meetings begin at 11:00 am.
After the club may then gather at a local restaurant for good food and socializing after the meeting.
