The club along with Thomas Peavy (KentuckyDMR.com) has set up of a digital repeater for DMR in the Franklin Ky area.
The club recognizes digital communications as a great alternative to analog voice and enjoy the benefits of digital when coupled with Internet technology. This repeater will be a great tool for the local community. It will open Franklin and Simpson county Kentucky to the world.
The repeater site also hosts an APRS iGate and digipeater. It also has a bulletin with details of the DMR repeater.
The SCARS club serves Franklin, Simpson County Kentucky and surrounding area. Our goal is to promote the proper use of amateur radio communications and support growth in the interest of HAM radio. KN4UTV is the club call sign and we use it during field day and other special events.
We host a weekly net open to all amateur radio licensees.

We are an ARRL affiliated VE team and attempt to have a VE session each month before our monthly club meeting. If you are interested in becoming licensed or upgrading an existing license, please find a session posted at https://hamstudy.org/sessions
Ham Study . ORG is also a great site for leaning more about licensing.
You will need to register as a user on HamStudy as well as register for a FCC FRN number before arriving for a test session.
The club meets monthly on the third Saturday of each month. We meet at Red Haven Properties office 122 Memorial Dr Franklin, KY. Meetings begin at 11:00 am.
The club will then gather at a local restaurant for good food and socializing after the meeting.
